OMGosh..............

I just can not believe how fast my baby is growing! He is not a normal 9 month old just in case you didn't know it. He is so much bigger than kids his age and most kids older than he is. Go figure!

FYI.............If you get a flu shot.....never ever pick up 25 pounds and carry it for a while! My arm is killing me, but hey, whatcha gonna do?

As I type this, he is asleep on the couch snoring away. It's hard to believe that he takes up an entire couch cushion now. It seems just like yesterday he was an itsy bitsy baby who barely fit there.

Now he is crawling everywhere and he even took his first step all by himself on Saturday. Although after he did it I think it kinda shocked him because he stood there for a minute after he did it and then just fell to the floor...like what in the world did I just do? Nick and I just looked at each other and he said, "Did you just see that?" Thank goodness that I did! Just wished that I had my video camera on!

Anywhoo.....I love you so much, Andrew! I hope you always remember that no matter what! You are such an adorable child and I thank my God everyday for trusting me to take care of you!

A Psalm of David...................

My Awana lesson for tonight is about Psalm 139. Have you read this?? OMGosh is it a great lesson to be taught! It's called "Ten Facts About That." Although I taught it to my kids a couple years ago, I have a new group who have yet to hear it. So I find myself studying really hard again to make sure what I tell them is understood and that they take it to heart. Sometimes I find it hard to teach 3rd and 4th graders. I find it hard to think of things to keep their attention. When you put 25 kids in a small room, it definitely gets hard! So please pray that I come across as sincere and that they see the Lord through me. Because after all, He is the one teaching through me.

I want them to understand that no matter what they learn in school, college, or wherever they go, that they know that God is their Creator. In this Psalm that David wrote was a praise of God's creation of people. David knew that God's creation is awesome. Here are my 10 facts about that!

1. God knows when I sit down. (vs.2)

2. God knows when I stand up. (vs.2)

3. God knows my every thought. (vs.2)

4. God knows where I am and where I'm going. (vs.3)
Thank the LORD he knows because sometimes I find myself going in circles!

5. God knows every word I say. (vs.4)
That freaks alot of kids out! Just ask them about it! He knows what your gonna say before you say it! Now if I could just get Him to stop me before I open "MY" big mouth sometimes! :-)

6. I can never get so lost that God doesn't know exactly where I am. (vs.7-9)

7. God guides me with His hand. (vs.10)

8. God knitted me together before I was born. (vs.13,15)
Hello? Did you know that if all your blood vessels were laid end to end, they would stretch more than 60,000 miles? Come on......that is totally awesome!

9. God has a calendar of my life, with all the spaces filled in. (vs.16)
You know, when I think back to before Nick and I got married, I used to think that Lord would come back before I got married. Then after we got married I thought that He would come back before I had a child. Well....guess what?????? I was wrong! Like it says, HE has a calendar for every ones life. It's on His timeline and nobody knows His plans. That's why we should just live each day like He's coming back tomorrow.

10. God thinks about me all the time. His thoughts number more than the sand. (vs.17-18)

Psalm 139:14 is my favorite! "I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well." (NASB)

God loves us so much that He know everything about us!

Now............if I can just teach the way I have it laid out in my head.

This sweet sweet baby is 9 months old today! I just can't get over it! I took this photo today so it is VERY current! My baby is just growin' way to fast!

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Five years ago, this past February, I sat in a waiting room with my family and pastor waiting to hear from my mom who had just under gone surgery to remove a mass from one of her ovaries. We were waiting to hear the big 'C' word come out of the doctors mouth and of course it did. You see this mass was the size of a basketball.

I will never forget the day she went for her annual check up. I was at work and my sister called to tell me that the doctor was pretty sure it was cancer. In that instant I felt such anger and I felt helpless. I knew there was nothing I could do for her except pray for her and be there for her. If you know my mother you know that she is such a wonderful person and strong willed at that! I knew that she would fight this to the bitter end! In fact that is what she told me.

I believe I got a little selfish with the whole situation. I begged and pleaded with God that He just couldn't have her, Not yet!! I was getting married in three months and she just had to be there. I had not had any kids and she needed to see my kids! There are too many things I needed her for! Me, Me, Me...........

It took me a while to except that it was in 'HIS' hands!

Yes, she had cancer. Yes, I knew she would have to go through chemo. Yes, I knew her hair would fall out. Yes, I knew that this would be so hard on her. But my Mother is a fighter. My mother WILL defeat this!

Although she had her good and bad days, and yes her hair fell out,(When we went to look for a wig for her I couldn't even watch her try them on! She still had hair! She didn't need a wig!) she chose not to complain. I rarely heard her say anything at all about any ailments that she might have had! This is my Mother! Strong to the core! Not afraid of the big 'C' word! FEARLESS!

So with that said, she was at my wedding. She has seen my precious son.

My Mother has been cancer free for five years this month!

We are still looking for a cure. If you haven't been checked, GET CHECKED! It could save your life!

Dear Alex,

I can't believe you are already 8 years old. Seems just like yesterday you were this little tiny baby and I just loved and hugged on you! Now you are this smart smart young man who gets into a little mischief every once in a while! :-) Now you roll around and play in the floor with my son! I just can't get over how much you have grown up so fast!!

I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday! It seemed like you did! You got lots of gifts and of course a birthday cake! (Although it was ugly because it said Roll Tide!) (WAR EAGLE VICKIE!) You played Twister with Auntie NooNoo. You soaked your brother with your new water gun. You just did all kinds of things! You even got a bank to put your money in!

I just want you to know that I love you so much and that I continue to be so proud of you each day!!
